List of "Oh F**K..." Moments
As a firm believer in pointless lists, herewith follows the latest of my lists.
It is the list of "Oh F**k..." moments which can be defined as the moment in any movie when a character has just realized that someone or thing has gotten the best of them and they are now in a very bad position. This bad position usually leads to death.
It is a requirement of the "Oh F**k..." moment that there is enough time for the person to realize they have been put in a situation that there is no way out of and that there is no chance to change their fate.
This list originated with the classic "Oh F**k..." moment from Goodfellas that starts it off.
1. Goodfellas – Joe Pesci playing Tommy DeVito
- The scene where Joe’s character, Tommy, is being taken to become a made man. They enter the room and he realizes, in the split second before they put a bullet through his head, that he is f**ked.
2. Shawshank Redemption – Bob Gunton playing Warden Norton
- Coming near the end of the film, the “Oh F**k...” scene is quite drawn out and the climax of it is when the Warden, after seeing the morning paper and hearing the approaching sirens, pulls the Bible out of the safe and opens it to read a message from Andy and then turns the pages to see the space where he had hidden the rock hammer. He realizes he is f**ked and the Bible drops to the floor. One could argue that the “Oh f**k...” moment comes a few moments later when he makes the decision to shoot himself in the head but the realization that he is screwed has already happened by that point.
3. The Road Warrior (Aka Mad Max 2) – Vernon Wells playing Wez
- Near the end of the climactic chase, Mad Max is steering the 18-wheeler at full speed down the highway with thugs all around him. He’s got the Feral kid reaching for the shotgun shells on the hood of the truck when suddenly Wez pops back up and screams like a banshee, scaring the crap out of the kid and most of the audience. However, back down the highway, the Humungus has put out the fire on his own truck and has popped the nitrous to catch up with the chase. Going full speed, the Humungus heads right towards the speeding tanker truck. As the truck comes over a rise Max and the Feral Kid both spot the speeding Humungus and pull back into the cabin. Wez turns around just in time to see that he is f**ked and the two trucks meet head on in an explosive collision, obliterating most of the smaller truck.
4. Jurassic Park – Martin Ferrero playing the lawyer
- During the scenes where the T-rex runs amok and stomps and chases everyone around, the lawyer runs into a grass shack bathroom to hide. Of course, the T-rex promptly destroys it and as the walls and roof disappear, so does the lawyer’s hiding spot. The lawyer is left exposed, sitting on the toilet as the T-rex looms over him looking very hungry. He looks up and realizes he is f**ked. The T-rex agrees and quickly chomps him up.

Oh I like this list. There seems to be some time and effort put into the list so far. With much anticipation I wait for more.
