Back on the Air
It's been a busy few weeks and I'm glad to be sitting at my computer again. Well, I wouldn't say glad, that makes me sound like I'm sitting here smiling like a doped up monkey punching the keyboard. I only half resemble a monkey, more like a chimp.
Anyway, much has transpired and now I feel like I'm getting back into some sort of rhythm. Play that funky music white boy.
I have moved and now have new digs to call home. You can get a gander at the place at this website if you haven't already seen it.

Still adjusting to the new area, living with the girlfriend, and the trains that run right in front of our building. Actually, the trains aren't all that bad and I'm finding that living with a cat is more of a challenge. I'm not used to something jumping on me at 5 in the morning and meowing because it thinks my hand movements mean I'm awake and it's time to play. The spiders in my old place tended to keep to their corners and not be so frisky.
Overall, Lucy is a pretty good cat as cats go and I'm generally ok with her. She's having a tough time adjusting to the other cats in the building and so far hasn't made any new friends. And one little enemy named Anchovy who has now made my shit list and will get his furry butt sprayed with water if he sneaks into our apartment again. Especially if he does it at 3 in the morning and Lucy and him get into a catfight on our bed like the other night. Have you ever heard cats fight? Loud isn't it? Try it when you're in a sound sleep and they do it 2 feet away. Like banshees screaming I tell you.
Anyway, the move went relatively painlessly although we did realize we both have far too much stuff and that we will have to purge even more as we go along just to keep it down to a manageable amount. Amazing how much stuff one can acquire. Extra dishes, pans, clothes, shoes, furniture etc.
The one area that didn't go smoothly was with the phone service. It was supposed to be disconnected at one end and reconnected at the other all on the 31st. Well, by August 10th we still didn't have a working phone and I used up my time on my cellphone trying to get Telus to get it going. Even they didn't know what the problem was which makes you feel really confident of their services. Had a technician come out and she managed to get us a dial tone. Then we discovered that we still weren't able to call the number. Sometimes you would get the voice mail, most of the time you would get a busy signal. And then after more talking with Telus we started to get some calls through. But not all. Only some numbers were coming through and most of them seemed to be Megan's friends and family. Mine were being shut out. Was Telus trying to tell me something?
After a few days of only receiving some calls and not others, we finally got one guy who seemed to be on the ball and figured out the problem. He fixed it and it seems to be all good for now.
I also got the internet working again fairly easily and now it's business as usual.
I only have a couple more weeks until school starts so I'm trying to get my puttering done around here because I probably won't have much time when I get into it.
Still, I'm trying to take the time to sit out and enjoy the sunshine on the deck and watch the boats go by. There's always something to look at out there. Last night a big ass boat came by really close to shore. It's lights caught my attention. It was hard to tell just how close it was and how big it was but it sure looked large floating along there. Very cool.
Came across a fun little music video that I thought I'd share. Nice to see that not all bands have to spend a million bucks to make an entertaining video.

And the song's pretty catchy too...

At last! I thought you'd fallen off the planet. Listen, the link to the real estate website just brings up their home page - where's your place??
