More from the Police Blotter

I forgot to mention how many "incidents" seem to be piling up at work these days. We had a mugging in the parking lot a couple of weeks ago which left one of our regular patrons with a head wound. One of our less quick thinking staff members actually sent him to the Librarians desk when he asked if she could call 911 emergency for him. Common sense anyone? The man was bleeding from the head.
The other incident happened last week and although I haven't been there for any of these I do like to keep up on what's going on. Apparently a man exposed himself to a little girl in the children's area of the library. The little girl didn't tell her mom until that evening so we couldn't respond very fast. The mother called the police the next morning and they came out to make a report. We got the best description we could and everyone was made aware of the issue.
A couple of days later a Detective Constable came out to do a follow up and wandered around the library. He noticed a middle aged Asian man who he recognized. He waited for the man to leave and then approached him outside where he then proceeded to arrest him. It turns out that the man was a known pedophile and was in violation of his parole. However, this was not the man that exposed himself a few days earlier. Apparently we have a steady stream of pedophiles coming into the branch on a regular basis. What the hell?!?
The cop was only in there for five minutes and spotted this guy. I wonder how many criminals they might catch if they did a daily sweep.
Very strange stuff.
